Adane is Sabahar's Silk Promoter based in Arba Minch, southern Ethiopia. He has been working at Sabahar since 2014. Adane graduated from Meda Welabo University. Before working at Sabahar, he was working in Melkasa Agricultural Research Center as a data collector on silk. His job is to train rural households to rear silk caterpillars and produce silk cocoons. Once trained, Adane gives support to those rearing the caterpillars and buys all the cocoons they produce for Sabahar. Since he has been hired, the silk production in Ethiopia has increased almost 200%. Adane is passionate about silk. He loves it because it is a new industry in Ethiopia and the environment in which he was born and raises is suitable for silk production. He is fascinated by the life cycle of the silk caterpillars.
