These shawls use the famous Ethiopian “tibeb” weaving technique to develop the geometric patterns in this bright, modern shawl. The combination of hand spun Ethiopian cotton and light, machine spun cotton makes the Timket a perfect shawl for autumn and winter. This shawl is named after the holiday of Timket, the Ethiopian Orthodox Christian celebration of the Epiphany. It is one of the most vibrant and colorful holidays in Ethiopia.
