Stella Shawl Handwoven Ethiopian Silk and Cotton - Soft, and Timeless Shawl for Every Season
Stella Shawl Handwoven Ethiopian Silk and Cotton - Soft, and Timeless Shawl for Every Season
These Fair Trade, eco friendly Ethiopian shawls are one of our best sellers. The heavily textured shawls are made from the combination of dark cotton warps and natural, hand spun Eri silk in the weft. The eri silk is a more nubbly and rougher than mulberry silk, resulting in the look of raw silk. The silk is cultivated in southern Ethiopia while the cotton is grown throughout the country. The shawls are woven loosely so one can really see and appreciate the irregularity of the hand spun silk. The two edges are finished with a band of color and hand twisted fringes.
