Mechot Throw Blanket Handwoven Ethiopian Cotton - co-Friendly, Artisan-Made, Soft and Cozy Blanket

These luxurious, eco friendly, Fair Trade, handcrafted Ethiopian throw blankets have a classic herringbone design. The weavers use a 4-harness loom to create the pattern which also results in an extra thick and heavy blanket. Using more sophisticated looms is new for many weavers and we are excited that they have perfected the design for export. The blankets are finished with tied fringes. "Mechot" means cozy or comfort in Amharic, the language most spoken in Ethiopia. The throw blankets are just that- mechot!
